In Baby Aviva Orangutan Diva, picture book readers are introduced to Baby Aviva, an Orangutan Diva who is a shining star of the jungle, as she embarks on a quest to find bananas.
Baby Aviva and her friend, Sofia the elephant, demonstrate their bravery by crossing a raging river filled with crocodiles to bring home food for her family. Just when Baby Aviva has the bananas in her sight, she is faced with one last challenge: a tiger! Instead of running, Baby Aviva does what she does best and makes friends with the tiger. They sing and dance until both are tired and ready for a snack break. When Baby Aviva asks her new friend for bananas, she is gifted with enough for her family.
This story provides a fun lesson in facing your fears and how to navigate difficult situations by being your authentic self. Not only is Baby Aviva Orangutan Diva told in flowing rhyme, but the jungle illustrations provided by Carl Mefferd add color and fun, making this a book that will appeal to both independent readers and lap-readers alike. While all ages will enjoy this story, it is most impactful for younger readers who may find themselves able to relate to Baby Aviva.
Baby Aviva Orangutan Diva would be an entertaining addition to any bookshelf.
