Alycat and the Sleepover Saturday: Book Cover

    Alycat and the Saturday Sleepover

    Written by Alysson Foti Bourque

    Illustrated by Chiara Civati

    Ages 4+ | 32 Pages

    Publisher: Pelican Publishing | ISBN-13: 9781455627233

What to Expect: Friendship, problem-solving, positive thinking

The latest in the immensely popular Alycat series, Alycat and the Saturday Sleepover, guides readers to think about speculation, anticipation, and dealing with the unknown.

Alycat is looking forward to one of her favorite events of the week: Sleepover Saturday! However, as she prepares a cake for her cake drop game, she receives a troubling phone call from one of her friends. Alycat can’t quite hear through the crackling on the line, but it sounds like Luna can’t make it to the sleepover—and she has some huge news to share! Will it be something terrible or sad? As Alycat and her friends enjoy the cake drop and scary stories in the tent, they can’t help wondering where Luna is and what her big news could be.

With engaging, relatable kitten characters and familiar situations, Saturday Sleepover reassures readers that anxiety about what we don’t know is normal and that our worst fears are often unfounded. The colorful Sanrio-style illustrations are adorable, humorous, and expressive, and simple text pairs with font effects to make the story accessible to developing readers or the story time crew. A sleepover checklist at the end of the story will have readers clamoring for their own Sleepover Saturdays.

Alycat and the Saturday Sleepover is entertaining, enjoyable, and pawsitively uplifting.
