A Dozen Cousins By Lori Haskins Houran

    Age Range: 4-6

    About A Dozen Cousins

    Anna had a dozen cousins
    All of them were boys.

What’s life like for one little girl with TWELVE male cousins? Not easy! “They read her secret diary. They used up all her paint. They put a lizard in her hat to see if she would faint.” Loaded with infectious humor, this rollicking, rhyming picture book features a happy heroine who adores her big, boisterous boy family.

    About the Author

Lori Haskins Houran has published 14 books for young readers, including Too Many Dogs, Too Many Cats, and Ducks in Muck (all Random House), which was an ALA/Booklist Top Ten Easy Reader. Her two most recent books came out in Spring 2013, I Will Keep You Safe and Sound (Scholastic) and Dig Those Dinosaurs (Whitman). A Dozen Cousins is autobiographical—Lori grew up with tons of cousins, and her kids have too. Lori lives in Palm Beach, FL. Visit her online at lorihaskinshouran.com.

    About the Illustrator

Sam Usher lives in London. His debut picture book Can You See Sassoon? (Little Tiger Press) earned many accolades in England: It was long-listed for the Greenaway Medal, and short-listed for the “Read it Again!” award, the Red House Children’s Book Award, and the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. Sam has recently relocated from Chew Magna, near Bristol, to Windsor, near the Queen. A Dozen sweepstakes page to see what other free children’s books may be up for grabs!
