What to expect: Sharks, sea life, and activity set

Do you have a kid who is totally obsessed with sharks? Mine sure is, and when we received this kit for review, she practically ripped it open with her bare hands (or shark teeth?).

This shark-shaped box holds a multitude of sharky excitement. From reusable stickers to a fold-out diorama and build-your-own shark replicas, to shark-fact cards and plastic shark figures, this box set really has it all. But where the kit really shines is the enticing book, AMAZING WORLD OF SHARKS, tucked inside. Bright illustrations, pictures, and graphics immediately draw in shark-obsessed children who will revel in every tiny detail. What are the ampullae of Lorenzini? Pores that sense electrical impulses! What is a cleaning station? Why, a fish beauty parlor, where shrimp eat the parasites off of the shark’s skin! Yum!

From Cookie-Cutter sharks to Whale sharks, Hammerheads and Great Whites, this set has a wide variety of awe-inducing sharks that will please even the most enthusiastic readers. Children can set up a detailed underwater scene with the included stand-up diorama. Add reusable stickers to the ocean-scape, and swim the plastic shark figurines around while you read about these fantastic animals out loud. Older kids will find the book perfectly accessible, with the smaller blocked sections making it easier to read. There’s even a helpful glossary at the end of the book to answer the most detailed shark-questions.

This kit makes the perfect gift and could also be enjoyed in a classroom station setting. Highly recommended.
