Self-Published Book for KidsMom Nicki Donley is on a mission to help children feel confident in social situations. Inspired by conversations with her seven year old triplets, Ava, Lily and Grace; Donley wrote Cool Conduct, 100 Ways To Make A Positive Impression. The Halo Publishing author is scheduling presentations at schools, libraries and bookstores to help children understand the importance of having values such as courtesy, empathy and respect.

“I believe unbecoming conduct can hold a child back both personally and academically from reaching their potential. My philosophy is that a child’s conduct should make them and those around them feel good and confident, not upset or embarrassed.”

Cool Conduct is a fun and educational question and answer book that identifies manners, etiquette and safety. The book is designed to encourage discussions of appropriate behaviors that develop respectful children.

Topics include social, outdoor, electronic and school etiquette, respecting belongings, safety, verbal and non-verbal communication, table manners, healthy habits, public places, and acts of kindness. Donley also created a “Cool Conduct Pledge,” in which children promise to be kind and respectful to themselves and others.

“Children are reminded there is no reason to treat others with disrespect and to be comfortable with who they are and what they want to become,” Donley said.

Donley is working on another book to help children accept and love themselves, just as they are. In addition to writing books, Donley is the owner of “Move Over Cards,” a stationery company that offers environmentally friendly gift enclosures. An avid recycler, Move Over Cards designs products from recycled paper and uses no wasteful envelopes. Their philosophy is “Be Good to the Earth”
