Can You Spot the Leopard? An African Safari: Book Cover

Can You Spot the Leopard? An African Safari

    Created by Karen B. Winnick

    Ages 7+ | 48 Pages

    Publisher: Greenleaf Book Group | ISBN-13: 978-1626349759

What to Expect: Poetry, African animals, Animal Facts

In author and artist Karen B. Winnick’s newest picture book, readers are taken into the African wilderness to experience a safari. Beginning at sunrise by climbing into a jeep, an adventure awaits readers as poems and full-color paintings delight and entertain while viewing the wondrous animals as if on a real African adventure.

Winnick has based the poems on actual observations of what animals do in the wild and relates it in an accessible way making the writing perfect for young and adventurous readers. In addition, the layout of the text is a fantastic introduction to poetry for a younger reader and lends itself to being read aloud.

Furthermore, along with incredible text, Winnick has provided soft yet realistic illustrations of the featured African animals. The reader can look at the images and feel as if they are truly sitting in the seat of the safari jeep and witnessing firsthand the majesty of these animals in their natural habitat. At the back of the book, further information and fun facts about each animal are provided, making this book a fun and educational experience to read.

Can You Spot the Leopard? is a perfect book for any animal lover regardless of age and would make an excellent companion to a classroom unit on African animals.
