What to expect: Rhymes, Animals, Humor

In this entertaining picture book, Do Ants Wear Pants?, author Gabrielle Grice poses a series of silly questions that are sure to elicit giggles from readers.

Beginning with the question Do ants wear pants?, a series of rhyming questions lead the reader on a journey that will have them thinking about things they may never have considered. From the silly to the slightly more thought-provoking, each question is smile-worthy.

Do ducks drive trucks? Do fishes make wishes? Do bees have knees?

The cartoon-style artwork by Alland Wijaya depicts each question quite literally, which only adds to the fun. On the final page, all of the animals featured throughout the book surround the last question in which readers are asked to decide which question was their favorite one. Simple, silly, and so much fun, author and retired police officer Gabrielle Grice is bound to draw young readers in by appealing to their innocence and curiosity.

One can only imagine the inspired post-story-time discussions as kiddos try to make up their own silly, rhyming questions. Thanks to the entertainment level and the rhyming literacy skills it encourages, Do Ants Wear Pants? makes a great at-home or classroom read-aloud.
