What to Expect: Holidays, celebrations, family, and world cultures.

Celebrate With Me is a joyous compilation of holiday traditions shared by chefs, artists, and designers from around the world.

In the West, most people are familiar with Christmas, Mother’s Day, and Halloween. But what about Holi? Songkran? Carnival? Eid? The Day of the Dead? From the many cultures around the world comes a wealth of colorful, joyous, magical holidays that are filled with fun traditions and opportunities to connect with family and friends. There are so many new things you can try when you celebrate around the world, from making colorful powders to throw on Holi to making nature art for the summer solstice or cooking zucchini latkes for Hannukah. Why limit yourself to just a few holidays when you can find things to celebrate all year long?

A full-page spread is devoted to each featured holiday, not only explaining what it is about but also offering crafting projects, recipes, and activity suggestions to help readers celebrate the holiday themselves. The message is one of inclusivity and togetherness, with each first-person account inviting readers to share in the writer’s personal experiences and traditions. The flat, stylized illustrations feature playful shapes and angles suggestive of movement and excitement. At the end of the book, a final page spread reminds readers just how many more holiday traditions there still are to explore and offers prompts for further research.

Celebrate With Me is a fantastic resource for building cultural awareness and having fun at the same time!
