The enterprising detectives will need to look for clues if they are to crack this fun case that is perfect for young picture book readers.

Detective LB is a spectacle-wearing ladybug who loves unraveling mysteries. Her best friend and trusted sidekick is Hopper, a lovable, spirited bunny who can get carried away. Together they run the BunnyBugs Detective Agency. Business has been slow, but when Poppy the cat, of the PoppyCat Candy Company, bursts in the door, the pair springs into action to solve the case of the missing chocolate frogs.

Author Janey Gaston has created an entertaining story that will have readers readily collecting clues along with LB and Hopper. Her well-paced writing is enjoyably witty and pairs well with Anil Tortop’s candy-colored, cheery and animated artwork that drops perfect little chocolatey clues. Pure entertainment combines with a lesson of misunderstandings and owning up to one’s mistakes. Detective LB and Hopper: The Case of the Missing Chocolate Frogs is a book that is sure to please the kiddos!
