Hiccup’s Haunted Halloween Hunt: A Seek & Find It Book for Ages 3 – 5

    Written by Dave W. Ball

    Illustrated by Design Pickle

    Ages 3+ | 24 Pages

    Publisher: Prime Rhyme Kids (2023) | ISBN-13: 9781734465655

What to Expect: Halloween, imagination, interactive elements, and problem-solving.

It’s Halloween, and there are so many costumes for a Hiccup to choose from! Should one be a Count hiding in the graveyard, surrounded by tombstones, pumpkins, and ghosts? Or maybe another should be a witch, flying on a broomstick and stirring a cauldron of spooky green potion? A Hiccup could be a mummy, a Frankenstein monster, or a skeleton. A Hiccup could be a Grim Reaper walking the night with a scythe or a pirate sailing a ship of bones. Whatever each Hiccup decides to be for Halloween, one thing is clear—Halloween is as fun and exciting as it is spooky and spine-chilling!

In this interactive search-and-find book for young readers, each page offers opportunities to practice observation and counting skills as readers hunt for hidden objects. At the same time, fun rhyming text also teaches readers new Halloween-related vocabulary and spelling, as they match pictures to text for words like “scythe,” “sphynx,” and “tomb.” Bold and bright illustrations full of intriguing details in primary colors play down the scary aspects of Halloween, showing fun characters with big smiles on their faces.

Hiccup’s Haunted Halloween Hunt: A Seek & Find It Book for Ages 3 – 5 is a fun addition to the Hiccup series, great for shared reading time and rainy autumn days.

    About the Author

Hailing from the lively town of Waldorf, MD, my love affair with rhyming words began early.

By age 8, I’d crafted my inaugural piece, “Book Of Nonsense Rhymes,” igniting my ardor for storytelling.

Beyond words, I’ve reveled in life’s many rhythms, from the thrill of foosball and bowling to the lyrical energy of rap concerts.

My 20s brought a foray into stand-up comedy, captured in ‘dave ball vegas is crazy’ on YouTube.

My imagination has birthed six self-published books, including:

    ➤ “Hiccup’s Haunted Halloween Hunt: A Seek & Find It Book For Ages 3 – 5!”
➤ “The Hiccups Wild Waterslide Race!”
➤ “ABCs of Affirmation,” guiding young minds through positive affirmations.
➤ “Hiccups,” a world of whimsy.
    ➤ The sequel, ‘Hiccups… Again?’
➤ And the interactive ‘Hiccups Again Epic Adventure.’

Now in Scottsdale, AZ, with my beloved wife and two radiant children, we craft tales against Arizona’s stunning backdrop.

My works have earned notable accolades:

    ➤ “ABCs of Affirmation”:
    – 2022 Readers’ Favorite Finalist, Children – Preschool genre.
    – 2022 Purple Dragonfly Award, Picture Books 5 & Younger genre.

    ➤ “Hiccups Again Epic Adventure”:
    – 2021 Purple Dragonfly Award, Activity Books genre.

    ➤ “Hiccups Again”:
    – 2020 Purple Dragonfly Award, Picture Books 5 & Younger genre.

To this day, I remain enchanted by words and creativity. Through my stories, I aspire to inspire young minds to chart their own unique journeys and dance to their heart’s rhythms.
