Josh and Andy's Spectacular Flying Adventures: Part 1: Flying Lessons

Josh and Andy’s Spectacular Flying Adventure: Part 1

Written by Stephen Devaney and Kevin Devaney

    Illustrated by Tonya Grifkin

    Ages 4-6 | 34 Pages

    Publisher: SDP Publishing | ISBN-13: 9781737801993

What to Expect: Friendship, problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, airplanes

Josh and Andy’s Spectacular Flying Adventure: Part 1 is a little book with a big message—even the most difficult goals can be reached with creativity, teamwork, and determination.

Andy is not just any flying squirrel—he’s an Olympic flying squirrel, and he loves soaring through the air, showing off his best aeronautic moves. His best friend, Josh, wishes he could fly, too. Even though Josh can’t fly like Andy, he has been watching his friend closely and has learned a lot about flying. The day before the RC Aircraft Rally, Josh finally gets his chance when a yellow remote-controlled plane crashes into his tree. With some creativity and a lot of flying know-how (and some glue, leaves, and popsicle sticks), Josh soon earns his “first flight” wings!

Readers will discover how differences can be turned into strengths through the two relatable animal protagonists. They’ll also learn a lot about flight and airplane mechanics. The colorful digital illustrations bring the Bayfield, Wisconsin area to life with recognizable landmarks and scenery that are sure to delight local readers.

Overall, Josh and Andy’s Spectacular Flying Adventure is fun and instructive—perfect for RC enthusiasts and anyone who dreams of flying.
