What to expect: Romance, Drama, Friendship, Scenic Settings, Italian Culture

When Violet came to Italy for her summer abroad, she knew she’d learn all about local culture, cuisine and art. And when she connects with heart-melting Luca, she knows her life will never be the same. But a terrible, dark family secret is pushing them apart. If it’s true, they’ll never be together. And if that isn’t bad enough, Violet must negotiate the drama of a sordid affair between a teacher and one of her roommates, in addition to the normal jealousy and secrets between any group of girls thrown together for a summer. Can feisty, loveable Violet solve the mystery of her family secret, or will she wind up alone?

This enchanting romp through the Italian countryside will have any girl, or girl at heart, melting with jealousy. Cute Italian boys and breathtakingly described scenery will make readers want to grab their passports. Author Lauren Henderson, who spent several years living in Tuscany, nails the cultural nuances and quirky differences between local Italians and foreigners. Drawing on her own experiences eating pizza and diving into hot springs, Henderson gives us a glimpse into the exciting world of summers abroad. Well written, light-hearted and a perfect match for readers of contemporary romance novels by authors like Deb Caletti and Susane Colasanti.

Denise Mealy is a former web content provider who stays at home to change diapers and write books. Her days are filled with Word documents, books and sloppy kisses (from dogs and baby alike). She likes to read, cook, dance, travel and forward pictures of spam sculptures to friends. If she could have dinner with any author, dead or alive, it would be a toss up between J.K. Rowling and Jane Austen. They would probably eat pasta. Yes, definitely pasta. For more information, visit: www.dccmealy.com You can also find her on Twitter: @dccmealy
