BookMy Love Is with You Wherever You Go

    Written by Debra Buchanan

    Illustrated by Nataly Vits

    Age Range: 3-7

    Hardcover: 36 pages

    Publisher: Dancing Pen Publishers (2017)

    ISBN: 978-0692851371

What to expect: Unconditional love, Mother-child relationship, God, Rhyme

My Love Is with You Wherever You Go is one mother’s ode to her babies, with a nod to God and his “precious care” and “all the wonders He has given to share.” The story affirms that a mother’s heart will always belong to her baby.

“Before you were born and before your first start, I knew I would love you with all of my heart.”

The illustrations show a growing family of 5—a mother, father, and their three children: two boys and one girl. Readers get to see baby’s first steps, mother and child dancing and singing together, a trip to the playground and family reading time. They see the mom playing dress-up, and visiting the zoo and the seashore with her children.

Author Debra Buchanan’s message of unconditional love between a mother and her children hums along poetically with singsong rhyme.

“We can walk on the shore, and what will we find?

The best would be finding your small hand in mine.”

    Book Art

The illustrations are light and bright and have an almost heavenly glow. They offer a lot of wonders for young readers to search for and delight in. The children have large endearing eyes that offer the reader a window into their sweetness.

This sweet book is to be enjoyed between a child and parent, read aloud while snuggled up closely together.
