What to Expect: Owls, Animal Rehabilitation and Rescue, Intergenerational, and a Famous Tree

Rocki and Her Famous Tree: The (Mostly) True Story of One Owl’s Unexpected Trip to Rockefeller Plaza is a delightful and heartwarming tale written by talented daughter-father duo Analise and Ryan Duques.

Based on actual events that took place during the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2020 holiday season, this enchanting account tells a riveting story of a bond between a young boy and an owl he encounters during his summer vacation at his grandpa’s house. Readers witness the young boy’s fascination with the Northern Saw-Whet owl, and as the story unfolds and the holiday season approaches, the owl’s sudden and accidental relocation to the iconic Rockefeller Christmas Tree puts the owl’s life at risk. Rocki and Her Famous Tree celebrates the remarkable rescue and release of the owl, telling an inspiring and uplifting story of kindness, action, and hope.

Thoughtful storytelling written with care comes to life through color illustrations that breathe extra life into the tale, beginning with the rich and glowing book cover in which Rocki the Owl and her adorable round eyes soar directly into readers’ hearts. In addition to being a lovingly written and illustrated book, Rocki and Her Famous Tree supports animal rehabilitation facilities through its sales. This aspect makes it a meaningful read with a purpose, encouraging us to embrace optimism and kindness in our everyday lives.

Ultimately, Rocki and Her Famous Tree champions the human spirit by highlighting the good and kind acts that can make a difference in our communities, making it a lovely read for the holiday season and beyond.
