What to expect: Funny anecdotes, potential run-ins with a bully, and talking pants!

In The Tyler Files: #1 Smarty Pants, author Brian Rock introduces readers to Tyler, a fifth-grader with a strange and wonderful possession. One morning, his normal, ordinary pants just start talking! This strange turn of events sets the stage for a series of incidents with the potential for serious mayhem.

Tyler is a regular kid, just trying to fit in at his school and not call too much attention to himself. This desire to fly under the radar is thwarted the fateful day that his pants start to talk. And not only do they speak, but the pants are smart and have a mind of their own. His pants begin to have conversations with Tyler out loud and on several occasions just up and start moving his legs to where the pants want to go. Tyler doesn’t want to risk getting detention or failing his math test but his talking pants are doing their best to get him into trouble. Although he starts to feel out of control, Tyler’s quick thinking gets him out of trouble and his classmates begin to recognize him as more than just a regular kid.

Independent readers will get a kick out of this charming and funny tale about a boy caught in a strange circumstance that has to make the best of it. This first installment of The Tyler Files is sure to please even the most reluctant readers with its funny story and quick-paced action. The book also includes follow-up questions for readers, fun facts about pants and lots of other extras to continue the fun. Readers will surely be on the lookout for the next installment of The Tyler Files.
