There's a Pig in My Pajamas: Book Cover

There’s a Pig in My Pajamas

    Written by Sarah Gomach

    Illustrated by Brigid Malloy

    Ages: 4-6 | 28 Pages

Publisher: Orange Hat Publishing (2026) | ISBN: 978-1645388678

What to Expect: Bedtime, imagination, animals, sleep routine.

The battle for bedtime is a familiar one in most households, making this picture book both relatable and gently instructive.

In this imaginative and fun picture book, the familiar attempts to dodge bedtime are aided by an unlikely crew of animal antagonists. A turtle on the toybox is stopping the toys from going in! A moose has stolen the milk cup, and a tiger has taken possession of the toothbrush! There’s a hippo in the clothes hamper and a narwhal on the nightlight! Luckily, Mom can see just what’s going on—those animals aren’t there to sabotage bedtime—they’re there to help. Toys fit neatly into the turtle-shaped toybox, and milk tastes great when drunk from a moose-shaped cup. The tiger toothbrush will get teeth nice and clean, and the narwhal nightlight casts just enough light to make the room cozy. It’s definitely time for bed now…

Readers will love imagining alongside the energetic and creative little girl as she brings her bedtime routine to life with a colorful cast of animals—and laughing at their own similar attempts to be distracted from bedtime. The short lines of rhyming text use alliteration and gentle rhythm, perfect for lulling listeners into a bedtime vibe as they listen to it read aloud. The whimsical, painterly illustrations bring the bedtime adventure to life with a soft pastel palette and expressive, oversized animal characters who fill the page and literally take over each bedtime scene.

There’s a Pig in My Pajamas is perfect for sharing at bedtime with any young reader who likes to find reasons not to go to bed.
