    Dr. Rosie Helps the Animals

    Dr. Rosie Helps the Animals

    Written by Jennifer Welborn

    Illustrated by Rozillia MH

    Ages 4+ | 36 Pages

    Publisher: Waterbear Publishing | ISBN-13: 9780578737089

What to Expect: Animals, vets, STEM, empathy, natural remedies

Dr. Rosie Helps the Animals is the perfect picture book for young readers who love animals.

Rosie loves learning about how her vet mom helps animals feel better. While she watches her mom, she asks many questions about the treatment types that help them. Then—Rosie is ready to do some healing of her own! Fast asleep while her mom works, Rosie dreams that she is treating a rabbit’s earache, a giraffe with a sore throat, a whale with a rash, and even a polar bear with a fever. From honey to aloe vera and cold compresses to hugs, Rosie knows just what each animal needs to start feeling better!

With simple text and colorful, expressive illustrations, the story is accessible even to beginner readers, who are sure to love trying to guess each animal’s problem alongside Rosie. Rosie and her mom model empathy for the readers, who will see that diagnosis is about more than just expert knowledge – it’s also about care. Because the story draws on real-life veterinary practices, readers will also learn about natural remedies almost without realizing they are doing so!

Dr. Rosie Helps the Animals is a fun and informative story for teaching young readers about caring for animals.
