Book I Dreamed YouI Dreamed You

    Written by Justine Avery

    Illustrated by Ema Tepic

    Age Range: 4-8

    Hardcover: 36 pages

Publisher: Suteki Creative (May 1, 2020)

    ISBN-13: 978-1948124508

What to expect: Unconditional Love and Mother-Child Relationship

Award-winning author Justine Avery’s picture book I Dreamed You is a mother’s beautiful and affective ode to her precious child.

    “There was a moment,

    Not long ago,

    When I dreamed of you

    And I didn’t even know…”

    Illustration

From a young women’s dream to the birth of her baby, and then through early childhood, a new mother testifies, both lyrically and emotionally, to the deep love she has for her babe. The book’s tender language and whimsical illustrations show readers the intimate bond and connection between the pair.

    “Now, you are here.

    From my wishes you grew.

    Once, I dreamed you.

    Then, you came true.”

    Book Art

The mixed-media artwork brings a nostalgic touch thanks to sepia tones printed on what appears to be fine paper textured with fibers—each illustration portrays the mother’s sentiments with charm and classic elegance. Hearts will certainly be warmed by this picture book that acknowledges a parent’s unconditional love for her child.

Made to be shared with the ones we love, it’s an impeccable choice for some snuggly lap-time reading. Just as much for the adults who will read it to their beloveds, I Dreamed You would make the ideal baby shower or Mother’s Day gift.
