What to Expect: Friendship, dragons, quests, magic, nature, destiny.

In this classic adventure-quest fantasy novel, readers will join an epic quest to save the world from dark magic.

On the day that she rescues the Emerald Stag from hexenwolves, Andi’s life changes forever. Until then, the most exciting thing that ever happened to her was falling out of a tree—but her fight with the wolves unleashes not just the latent magical powers within her, but also a past fraught with secrets.

After a childhood of obscurity hidden in the Emerald Forest with her godmother, Andi is suddenly an object of interest to the Green Wizard—the most powerful mage she’s ever heard of, who might be a benevolent mentor, or might have more sinister intent. Meanwhile, in the wider world beyond the Emerald Forest, the powerful Raven Queen is amassing an army of dark creatures—some even more terrible than the hexenwolves. Will Andi’s newfound powers be the secret weapon that saves the world?

As the heroine, Andi is intelligent, conscientious, and determined, but it is her humility and willingness to learn from her mistakes that readers are sure to warm to. Author Jesse Whipple has created a magical world filled with wonders for readers to lose themselves in, featuring glow-in-the-dark fruit potions, magical stags, shapeshifters, dragons, and mountains made of magic-infused crystals. The omniscient narrator guides readers through this world with wit and humor, and more advanced readers will appreciate the sophisticated dialogue and rich descriptions.

Exciting, funny, and heartwarming, On Emerald Wings is the perfect fantasy adventure for readers who love a good quest.
