    From Ripley Publishing

    Age Range: 7 – 10 years

    Paperback: 224 pages

Publisher: Ripley Publishing (October 7, 2014)

    ISBN-13: 978-1609911164

What to expect: Fun Facts, Crazy Stories, Animals, People

The third title in the Ripley’s Believe It or Not® successful Fun Facts and Silly Stories series is here: Ripley’s Fun Facts and Silly Stories 3. The Ripley’s team thrives on digging up new and extraordinary information on people, objects and animals and just as the title promises, there are plenty of fun facts and silly stories in this latest addition. There is enough to fill the 224 pages of this wonderfully compact paperback book.

Ripley’s Fun Facts and Silly Stories 3 is a really fun way for kids to learn about the world and the extraordinary things in it. Each strange, endearing, and fascinating fact is sourced by Ripley employees or submitted by readers and Ripley fans—with every effort made to verify the accuracy of each entry. While some of the stunts and activities found in the book are undertaken by experts and should not be attempted by anyone who has not received adequate training, kids will enjoy being able to interact with certain parts of the book, such as attempting to hum while holding your nose—it’s impossible! All of the information provided is delivered in small tidbits and will appeal to the intended audience of kids aged seven through ten.

It has a zippy layout, punchy headings, and color photographs that really resonate with reluctant readers, too. With many members of the Ripley’s team being parents, aunts, and uncles, they have solid ideas of what is fun, yet appropriate, for kids. It’s also refreshing to know that Ripley’s Publishing lives by the code Robert Ripley used when creating his cartoons—a willingness to provide proof and details to anyone who asks.
