Yet another is obsessed with fashion; the last likes to put on airs. With such radically different personalities, you might think they’d have trouble working as a team, but somehow, they seem to manage. From finding their mother’s lost engagement ring to keeping raccoons out of the attic and helping with the shopping, the children bicker, argue, get distracted, and cause unbelievable amounts of mayhem, but they always get things sorted out in the end.
The five children are all different yet relatable—they don’t always get everything right, and readers will enjoy watching them learn from their mistakes. The short, contained chapters are ideal for beginner readers, while humorous asides and vocabulary choices keep the narrative interesting. The stories celebrate important values, such as the importance of reading, being accepting of differences, and sticking together as a family.

Alison Bellringer has been writing short stories to share with friends and family for many years. She always enjoys exploring her creativity when putting pen to paper, and she is excited to have the opportunity to share her love of writing with others.
Alison loves spending time with her pet dog—a Labrador x Huntaway called Smoky—teaching her tricks and taking her for walks. She lives in a small town in New Zealand near many beautiful parks and beaches. Alison has been playing trombone since about 2010 and euphonium since mid-2019, and she always likes getting together with a few friends to ‘make a joyful noise’.
