The Girl and Her Noble Steed: Book Cover

The Girl and Her Noble Steed

    Written by Kirthana J. Fanning

    Illustrated by Travis J. Hill

    Age Range: 8+ | 100 Pages

    Publisher: Kirthana J. Fanning LLC (2023) | ISBN-13: 9798988194125

What to Expect: Friendship, orphans, horse racing, and determination.

Set on an imaginary island where it is always summer, The Girl and Her Noble Steed is a fairy tale about courage, determination, friendship, and second chances.

Ofe has a dream – she wants to race in the Little Ginos race – and not just because of the 7000-rupee prize. However, that prize becomes critically essential when Ofe discovers that the orphanage she lives in has no more money for food. If Ofe can win the race, she can save her home and her orphanage family, but to do that, she’ll need a trainer, a saddle, and an animal to race on – all of which cost money she does not have. Still, Ofe is determined, and with some guidance from God and the friendship of a very special donkey, Ofe’s dream may come true.

Ofe is a bright and feisty character whose enthusiasm makes her easy to love, and readers will undoubtedly enjoy her escapades as she works hard to fulfill her dream and support her home and community. Woven through the story are important messages about faith and hope and their power to help those who help themselves. Quirky language and matching quirky cartoon illustrations add humor and energy to the story.

The Girl and Her Noble Steed is educational, inspirational, and fun to read.
