    Written by Zane Carson Carruth

    Age Range: 5-8

    Paperback: 32 pages

    Publisher: Carson Marketing, LLC

    ISBN: 978-1532-5818-0

What to expect: Tooth Fairy and Adventure

Now here’s a new picture book take on how the tooth fairy came to be …

Far, far away is a world known as Tulip Hollow. It’s a place where young fairies play, all except Abella. Abella is not allowed to venture outside the castle without her parents. On the one day her father allows her to fly with her fairy friend Darcie to a birthday party, although warned not to take any detours or talk to strangers, she is unwillingly picked up by a big old bee who flies her away from the direction of her friends and the party.

When the bee refuses to let her go, she pinches him and is dropped into a patch of tulips. The young fairy is saddened when she discovers a pearl is missing from her favorite orange purse—although it still contains the one-dollar her mother had placed inside. It is at this moment that Abella observes a young boy lose his tooth while picnicking with his family. Although she knows she should find her way home, she decides that the boy’s tooth would make a great replacement for the missing pearl from her purse. No spoilers here, but we can tell you that the first ever Tooth Fairy arises from the experience that follows.

On top of creating an imaginative yarn, most likely different to any Tooth Fairy story you’ve heard, the author has built in opportunities to discuss stranger danger and personal safety. The colorful illustrations are engaging and the characters (minus the old bee) are depicted cheerfully.

Losing a tooth can be an exciting and alarming experience! The World’s First Tooth Fairy …Ever matches that energy. For ages 5 through 8.
