    Best Dinosaur Ever: book cover

    Best Dinosaur Ever

    Written by Lori Rotter

    Illustrated by Vaughan Duck

    Ages: 3-6 | 34 Pages

    Publisher: LFR Creative, LLC (2023) | ISBN-13: 979-8988752905

What to Expect: Imagination, dinosaurs, individualism, and self-belief.

In this story about individuality and self-belief, an utterly irrepressible main character shows readers that they don’t have to let the negative voices of others deflate them.

Milo’s dad says he can’t be a dinosaur—dinosaurs are extinct, and anyway, Milo is just a boy. He doesn’t have sharp claws, or big jaws, or anything. But Milo knows better—with a bit of determination and belief, he’s sure he can be the BEST ‘SAURUS EVER! So, Milo sets out to test his best dinosaur characteristics, from a sneaky roar to amazing food-munching capabilities and just the right size and color. All it takes is some cardboard, hard work, and a good imagination. Even though his family laugh and roll their eyes, Milo knows he is the best dinosaur ever!

Milo’s belief in himself is unshakable, making him a wonderful role model, and readers will love watching him exasperate his family as he proves them wrong. Snappy rhyming text uses alliteration and text effects to guide beginner readers through the narrative, and the colorful cartoon illustrations are full of movement and humor. A fun activity page at the end of the book invites readers to develop their own dinosaur costumes.

Best Dinosaur Ever is a fun story and a fantastic starting point for first conversations about self-belief.
