The Gold Mystery Adventure: book cover

    The Gold Mystery Adventure

    Written by Randy Kaufman

    Ages: 10+ | 343 Pages

    Publisher: Zhen Stango (2023) | ISBN-13: 979-8869825124

What to Expect: Family, adventure, friendship, perseverance, and magic.

In this futuristic adventure, readers are introduced to a richly imagined world of underwater cities, metallic monsters, and space travel.

The cities of Genus and Brix used to live in peaceful harmony, but ever since the rise of the sinister leader Razor, Brix has become a menacing place, overshadowed by monsters and spewing pollution into the waters Genus depends on. Zhen, the daughter of Genus’ director, and the mysterious golden artifact she has stolen has become the last hope of both cities—but with enemies on her heels and time running out, saving Genus and Brix won’t be easy. Luckily, she has good friends and family to help—but are they all telling her the truth? Perhaps the mysteries of the golden artifact and Razor are nothing compared to the mysteries in her own family…

Zhen is a daring and resourceful heroine, and readers will love watching her grow in her confidence and abilities as a leader. The story is fast-paced, balancing family drama with a cast of colorful villains and the urgency of a world-annihilation plot. By casting the earthlings as the threat to this alien planet, the novel also raises interesting questions about colonization, right and wrong, and imperialism, making it a good starting point for thought-provoking conversations.

The Gold Mystery Adventure is an exciting and original story.
