If you’re worried about your big brother going to kindergarten, then this is just the book for you! The first day of kindergarten can seem a little bit scary—after all, your brother will be apart from you for nearly the whole day. Obviously, he’ll need all the help he can get from you, so How to Send Your Brother to Kindergarten offers fifteen easy, fail-safe steps for making sure it all goes according to plan. This book explains everything from what to pack and prepare the night before to extra touches to make sure your brother feels loved when he’s away from you. Now there’s zero need to worry!

How to Send Your Brother to Kindergarten isn’t just a humorous approach to allaying fears about a change in the family; it also offers genuinely good advice for a younger sibling to follow, with gentle reminders about bedtime, hugs, and being supportive. The book acknowledges the anxieties younger siblings may experience and their agency to alleviate them by providing readers an active and important role in the change process. Cheerful illustrations offer reassurance as well as an extra touch of humor.

Overall, How to Send Your Brother to Kindergarten is a clever, enjoyable, and valuable starting-school book.

    About the Author

Jen is a mom, wife, pharmacist, author, and a bit nerdy. She has written five picture books, including one with her oldest son. Her books are inspired by life as a parent; they are written for kids but meant to give caregivers a smile, too. Jen and her husband enjoy spending time with their three boys doing basically anything – including swimming, golf, video games, baseball, family walks, and bike rides – while generally feeling they are growing up way too fast.
