    The Children’s Book Review | March 15, 2017

With expressive illustrations and simple text, this giggle-inducing tale about (not) being scared features the endearing characters from the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award winner You Are (Not) Small.

    Age Range: 3-7

    Hardcover: 32 pages

    A Note From the Author

Fear is one of the loneliest feelings, especially for a child. Because kids automatically assume they are the only ones who feel afraid, they tend to hide it, increasing their anxiety. Books allow children to experience scary situations vicariously. With some safe distance, readers can see beloved characters be fearful and realize that it’s not only normal and universal, it’s also different for everyone. Through books, kids (and adults) can also learn tools for coping with their fear.

Publisher’s Synopsis: Two fuzzy friends go to an amusement park. They try to convince each other that there are much scarier things than the roller coaster. Hairy spiders! Aliens! Fried ants! They soon discover that sometimes being scared isn’t as “scary” as they thought. With expressive illustrations and simple text, this giggle-inducing tale about (not) being scared features the endearing characters from the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award winner You Are (Not) Small.

This book is something I will pick up for my 2 youngest grandsons. Both are going through this “scared” stage right now.
